During a lift (by others) on 30th October to facilitate the exchange of bogies a mishap occurred whereby the loco body came in directly contact with the ground prior to completion of the exercise. The extent of damage at this time has not been fully ascertained or costed.

Members of the restoration group were not involved in the incident other than as observers. The locomotive's body shell is currently stood on sleepers waiting assessment of the damage by a specialist company.

In the meantime work continues on the overhaul of the bogies (ex-50001) which should be completed in a week or two.
