The overhaul of the bogies is now complete except for refitting of one-wheelset (awaiting new bearings) and the traction motors.

Work has started on stripping the traction motors for overhaul with removal of the pinions.

On the weekend of 15th November the opportunity was taken to fit new tarpaulins to protect the loco better for the winter ahead.

Rare chance to see 26 "naked" with no covers (15-11-2003)

New covers are fitted protecting the loco for the winter and allowing light into the loco for working (16-11-2003)

We have now started on one of the last major tasks in the locomotive's rebuild; the control cubical. The cubical ex-50001 has been stripped down to a shell ready for re-painting and re-varnishing (internal).
